I woke up last Saturday, packed up the gear, grabbed Emily- trusty second shooter/sidekick -and drove around the block to Melesa and Erik’s apartment. 🙂 Melesa has this smile that crinkles her eyes, and her nose if she’s laughing; I knew from the minute I hugged her and said, “Happy wedding day!!” that it would be. No matter what. Erik and Melesa are great together. Generous with their joy and grounded in Christ, their marriage will be an awesome one.
Melesa you were gorgeous in lace and chic pixie haircut– Erik’s adoring look kept us smiling all day long! It was an honor to capture your family and rock-the-dance-floor-wedding party. Hope you guys had a great week relaxing in sunny Mexico- congratulations and ENJOY this sneak peek.
St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Milwaukee’s East side has such great architectural details.
Erik is one talented designer and custom made their modern wedding logo: M&E.
Perfect space for a first look: the doors, the floor, the iron work, a beaming groom…
A bathroom that EXACTLY matches the bridesmaids’ dresses? This had to be documented.
For Melesa (below):
This dance was one of only three times the floor was so empty. These guys know how to work off their cake! 🙂 Congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs. Skoglund!

Dear Melissa,
I saw these photos and I was nearly brought to tears because of how much joy that has taken place in your life and how much of an impact you had in mine. All those years ago when you were at Taylor and I was in junior high, you befriended me and I have always thought of you as a mentor. You taught me how to seek Jesus in trials and to continue to love Him through it all.
Seeing your joyous wedding day, and the fact that God continues to provide for you just makes me so happy! I cannot express my joy for you and the love that I hold for you. I remember so many things that you taught me and how much of an impact you had on my development into the person I am today. I speak of you often to girls that I now mentor and I could not be more blessed than to have such a Godly woman in my life during those times of trials.
You are a blessing to all that come in contact with you and now you your husband has the biggest blessing of his life, You!
Much love from Upland, IN

Great pictures and I loved the photographers during the day – not just a job but a happy time for them too. So many people we love in one place… and M&E made us all joyful and thankful. Dad
