Danielle and Colin were married on sunny Sunday morning, at Bacchus just off of Lake Michigan. When Danielle first contacted me about shooting her brunch wedding, I was thrilled. I LOVE brunch! Who doesn’t! But seriously, I’ve photographed a few morning weddings before and love candidly capturing these bright, intimate affairs. The morning began with Colin and some family mingling over excellent coffee in the bar while Danielle got ready in the Library for their first look. I can’t get over her adorable glam flats from Anthropologie! Smart AND stylish.
This day held meaning in the details: a charm in memory of the bride’s father, the groom’s grandfather’s pocket watch, vintage touches like family wedding photographs, and rustic florals in shades of pink.
The main event was short and sweet, with strings and prayers for a couple who took their time to tie the knot and couldn’t have been more sure about their commitment to each other.
Cheers! Mr. and Mrs. Stoddard!
Bartolotta’s Bacchus has an intimate event space perfect for a smaller Milwaukee wedding. With historical architecture and plenty of natural light, it still has a cozy feel, not to mention a great view of the lake. After breakfast inspired hors d’oeuvres and a few portraits, the couple joined their guests for a brunch reception. It was one of the most delicious, unique wedding meals I’ve ever had as a vendor (Crab cake eggs benedict?! Still dreaming about it!), complete with heartfelt speeches by the parents of the bride and groom.
(above) I admit, I probably over shot these casually elegant garden-style bouquets designed by Flower and Bee. They’re just so pretty! I couldn’t help myself. 🙂
Danielle, it’s always a little intimidating to shoot the wedding of a fellow photographer, but from the minute you walked in my office and started talking about your wedding, I knew working with you would be nothing but a pleasure. Your wedding was not only beautiful because of your hard work, but because of who you are. Colin is lucky to (finally) call you his wife! Thank you for letting me be part of your special day. Congratulations to you both!
Leave the bride & groom some love in the comments! If they receive 10 comments they’ll receive a free 8×10 of their favorite blogpost image.
