Aparna & Keyur planned an elaborate, traditional\u00a0wedding for family and friends from around\u00a0the world, and we were honored to capture it! \u00a0Aparna\u2019s care & attention to detail extended into the preceding ceremonies as well the wedding itself,\u00a0at Discovery World\u00a0on the lakefront.<\/p>\n

This Indian wedding was a full weekend affair, and Sunday’s events kicked off with a Baraat along the jetty of white rocks. \u00a0Though all the views were spectacular, Keyur in his finery stole the show (on horseback), as Aparna watched from her getting-ready room. \u00a0Traditionally the groom would process with his family\u00a0all the way to the bride’s home, where he was greeted by her parents\/relatives. \u00a0 The tunes were rocking while everyone on the groom’s side danced\u00a0their way to meet Aparna’s \u00a0family at Discovery World and present Keyur for marriage.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

A colorful Hindu ceremony, full of traditional rituals, followed\u00a0the Baraat. \u00a0Aparna & Keyur wrote and added their own vows, before taking the ‘seven steps’ around the fire together to officially become husband and wife. \u00a0One of my favorite parts of the day was the couple kneeling and being blessed by their elders; it’s easy to see how much these two respect\u00a0and love their families.<\/p>\n

After a quick bite (best Indian catering I’ve had, ever!) and a short break, it was time for a black tie, more Western reception. \u00a0Aparna & Keyur thoughtfully infused bits of their history as a couple into the table names, and the floral centerpieces were absolutely gorgeous! \u00a0Speeches are usually given by the people who know you best, and reveal much of the couple’s character. \u00a0No surprise:\u00a0Aparna & Keyur are every bit as intelligent and generous in spirit as they seem upon introduction. \u00a0Not only friends of the couple spoke, but also both sets of parents– a cool\u00a0tradition since the wedding is a crowning day of sorts for parents too! \u00a0As if we hadn’t enjoyed enough beauty for one day, the weather was mild, and there was a full moon over Lake Michigan while the dance floor filled up. \u00a0Keyur was out there not hindered one bit by that tux, cutting a rug with the best of them. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Keyur & Aparna, I know I didn’t\u00a0look forward to this day\u00a0nearly as long as you two, but from the moment you booked I could tell\u00a0your wedding would be memorable and grand. \u00a0Thank you for allowing me to be part of it! \u00a0You and your parents\u00a0poured your hearts into this celebration, making\u00a0even the less pivotal moments beautiful. \u00a0There was so much to capture, so much laughter and joy; the hours flew by! \u00a0Best wishes for a happy life spent (finally) in the same state, serving others and each other with your many gifts. \u00a0Congrats!<\/p>\n
