These two doctors may have found each other a little later in life than some couples but their love was every bit as sweet and ‘on your sleeve’ as the twenty-something Mr. and Mrs. \u00a0What fun to watch. \u00a0I caught myself tearing up at the way Renee looked at Scott through out the night– even the gorillas and suspended whale skeleton didn’t have a chance. \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Scott & Renee, I wish you every happiness in this new adventure: \u00a0married life! \u00a0I’m so happy you contacted us from all the way in Atlanta- it was an honor to photograph this special day. \u00a0Enjoy.<\/p>\n

You’re never too old to be heckled by your siblings… my siblings will back me up on this. \u00a0\ud83d\ude42\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

\nThey were married in the Pulcher Butterfly wing (plastic dinosaurs and all manner of prehistoric glass-boxed critters looking on). \u00a0Renee’s mother was the matron of honor. \u00a0So sweet! \u00a0She didn’t have dry eyes for more than a minute of the ceremony.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

At the reception (in the Streets of Old Milwaukee exhibit) the details Renee’s family created were so fitting. \u00a0I loved the huge pizzarelle wafer cookies and paper butterflies on each table, folded from pages of dictionaries and poetry books. \u00a0You might notice the wooly mammoth… that’s for Scott, the grounded one. \u00a0It was like a European dinner with friends, under the trees and the streetlights, everyone losing track of the time.<\/p>\n

This was easily the darkest reception I’ve ever photographed. \u00a0I walked through the space before things got started (gulp!) and knew a test was coming. \u00a0 By the time the reception rolled around I psyched for the challenge of maintaining a documentary style (no flash) without sacrificing technically. \u00a0Some of these shots aren’t crystal clear but flash would have ruined the dim, romantic mood. \u00a0This is one time ‘family member cameras’ didn’t stand a chance at capturing the ambiance \u00a0and I think these reception images turned out well, under the circumstances… \u00a0If you’re planning a candle lit ceremony, I’m ready. \u00a0Let me at it. \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
