At Sarah and Justin’s wedding, food and family were definitely behind the scenes (and what helped take this event from dream to reality). You’ll notice a few more pictures in this post and for good reason, the food and talent behind it deserved to be featured! Interspersed between every phase highlighted in this post- prep/anticipation, ceremony, formals, B&G pics, cocktail hour, dinner, dessert, dancing and after (whew!)- you see the kitchen humming. It was fun running from the hall to the kitchen with my camera, watching the magic happen and drooling…ehem, documenting friends put love on a plate to celebrate the bride and groom.
The couple met at what is now their restaurant, Sanford, and requested a few shots there. From the the menu Justin agonized over, to the flowers (homegrown and GORGEOUS) their day was full of personal details like this, and items/moments in memory of those who’ve gone before. Sarah and Justin it was an honor to capture your wedding and all the fun-loving guests who know you as warm and generous! Remember to relax and order pizza once in a while; as a business owner myself, I know a night off with my other half goes a long way. 🙂 May you always look at each other with as much love as you did this day.

Egg tapping, an Easter tradition in Justin’s family, was done in place of lighting a unity candle- check out the eggs they made with silk ties. I’ve been doing Easter forever, but had never seen this technique before:
The new Mr. and Mrs. Aprahamian – Congratulations!
Thanks to my assistant, Laurie (www.laurelynsavannahphotography.com) for her help at this challenging venue for photography. She didn’t just come for the food, but agreed it was a great perk. 🙂

A trip to Sanford w/some friends is in the works! How did I miss this guy before? He’s no stranger to the James Beard Awards. Congrats!
Loving the pictures of all the kitchen action!
What a unique location and the food looks like it was amazing!
Beautiful window light portraits!
