What makes an engagement shoot with an awesome couple even better? An adorable dog, named Bourbon. I’m not normally a dog person (don’t hate) but this guy was cute AND calm, not to mention pretty darn photogenic. Jess and Brian are planning a classy, slightly vintage inspired wedding this fall and I can’t wait to see this stylish girl rock a white dress! Jess, your smile is contagious– it’s easy to see why Brian looks at you the way he does. Thanks for a great session and for making the effort to make Bourbon a part of it. It’s clear he’s your baby– I heard he winds up sharing the bed some nights– 🙂 it was only right to get a few ‘family photos’. Meaningful engagement sessions are some of my favorite sessions to shoot; we couldn’t have asked for a nicer night to squeeze yours in.
FYI: The Yard at the Iron Horse Hotel was the perfect, chill outdoor place to grab a drink. Check it out some time this summer when you need a relaxing after-work wind down or a no-fuss kick off to the weekend!
ENJOY.

This rose gold ring (above) with pink diamond was a perfect combo of pretty and feminine (nice work, Brian!). Someone has good taste…
Brian and Jess live near South Shore park and love going for runs or walking the dog along the lake. We squeezed a few shots out of the last 15 minutes of sunlight. I actually like the dim, cool-light look of these images, and decided not to warm them up in post.
