On a cold, cloudy day in northern Wisconsin a librarian married her own Mr. Darcy– a beautiful day of human connection, family and friends, another happy ending!
Kate, you were classic elegance in lace and vintage fur. It was an honor from start to finish working with you and Luke! Thank you both for implicitly trusting my ability to document, smiling in the frigid wind (it was relentless!), and for planning such an authentic, personalized event. Congratulations!

The moment I heard my first love story I began seeking you,
not realizing the search was useless.
Lovers don’t meet somewhere along the way.
They’re in each other’s souls from the beginning.

(above) Kate’s niece made a tiny, adorable flower girl! She carried this moose around all day, a gift from the bride and groom.
Groom’s request – a quick stop at the biker bar where this love story began (below).
The bride took my recommendation of portraits at a place with open space, on the way to the reception. I loved her idea of using her aunt’s farm, LOTS of space (we almost missed it!) in those Wisconsin fields, and Kate’s comment that she’ll always remember that part of the day, when she and Luke visit. We might have had a windchill to work around, but the trade off was this gorgeous, moody blue sky. I’ll take it. 🙂
Cocktail hour was en route to the reception and a perfect place to thaw out after portraits. I’ve never been so happy that the bride and groom’s mothers insist I stop shooting to have a hot cup of coffee. 🙂
Leave the bride and groom some love in the comments. If they receive 10 comments they will get a free 8×10 of their favorite blog post image. Congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs!

Wow! These shots are a great reminder of how beautiful your wedding was.
My favorite picture NOT of Luke and Kate is of the muddy heels, I think.
